For Adults

The Sydney Puppet Theatre runs occasional workshops for adults (15 years and up) in puppet making and manipulation. We will also design a workshop for your group at your venue (minimum 10 participants required).

Workshop 1 Working With Latex
- create a puppet from scratch working with clay, plaster and latex. Courses over either 2 weekends or 7 weekly 4 hour sessions.

Workshop 2 Marionette basics
- learn the rudiments of creating your own marionette (string puppets). Courses over either 1 weekend or 4 weekly 4 hour sessions.

Workshop 3 The Art of the Shadow
- learn to design, make and operate a 3 piece shadow puppet. 1 day course.

For Children and Teens The Sydney Puppet Theatre has designed a variety of puppet building workshops for children and teenagers from 4 years and up. We prefer a minimum 3 hour block. We will also design a workshop for your group if you are working on a particular theme.
